MATERIALS
For mattress production Firma AKANT+K, Ltd uses eco-friendly and high-quality materials. 80% of the materials are imported. All the materials have quality certificates and hygienic conclusions.
Mattress ticking is made of jacquard fabric quilted with padding polyester and non-woven material. Jacquard fabrics are special mattress fabrics produced to be durable, long-lasting, and to provide comfort for the sleeper. Only two models of children's mattresses have a removable cover of 100% cotton coarse calico quilted with padding polyester.
Padding polyester is used in mattress production non only for aesthetic effect, but also for good air circulation in upper mattress layers.
Bonel is spring unit with orthopedic properties. Every bi-conic spring has 5 coils and becomes narrower in the middle for better distribution of body load. We produce Bonel springs on Italian equipment of Fides make. Steel wire 2.2 mm in diameter is used for this kind of spring units. One square meter of spring unit comprises 115 springs.
Pocket Spring is the spring unit of independent springs with orthopedic and anatomic properties. These properties are achieved due to high elasticity of the spring unit. Every spring is enclosed in a separate fabric pocket, so that the neighboring springs are not involved, and the body load is distributed evenly.
There are 272 springs (straight assemblage) or 330 springs (chequered assemblage) in one square meter of such unit. We use 1.8 mm tempered wire of German origin for production of Pocket Spring units. These units are framed in flat wire, not round, which makes them very resilient and they restore primary form after deformation.
AKANT+K firm was the first producer of Pocket Spring units in Ukraine.
Zoned spring unit is a Pocket Spring unit with five firmness zones for proper backbone support. The spring units are 20 cm high. Mattresses on these spring units compose Gold Series of Akant.
Thermo bonded felt is felt of high density and durability. It protects mattress’s soft layers from spring’s pressure.
Felt is a high-quality material used for firmness and durability of a mattress.
Cotton wool is 100% natural material. It creates optimal microclimate during hot summer.
Sheep wool is 100% natural material which provides optimal microclimate in winter keeping warmth.
Coco-fiber are sheets of coconut fibers pressed together by natural latex. It has antibacterial and antiallergic properties, gives firmness and durability to a mattress.
Polyurethane foam (PU-foam) is a high-quality material providing a mattress with comfortable resilience.
Quilted panel is a soft layer made of PU-foam and padding polyester quilted between two layers of non-woven. It serves to make a mattress more soft and comfotable.
Latex is a natural material made of hevea (rubber tree) juice. It has orthopedic and anatomic properties and serves for the top comfort. Latex sheets are evenly perforated for better air circulation, and latex boards (Oliver mattress) have tree firmness zones due to perforation.
The original Summer / Winter construction is the construction for the comfortable recreation all year round. One side (with cotton wool) creats optimal microclimate in summer and the other side (with sheep wool) keeps warmth and gives comfort in winter.
The orthopedic effect secures correct position of the spine during sleep.

Glue-less technology is a technology of deep quilting for soft layers fixation without use of glue. It makes a mattress more resilient, elastic, durable, enhances orthopedic effect and makes a mattress look better.

We have entirely eliminated use of glue for mattress assemblage thanks to unique know-how where all the soft layers are quilted through simultaneously. This makes a mattress more elastic, resilient and springing, endows it with the characteristics of the real spring mattress.

ECO-FRIENDLINESS. The glue-less mattress made of natural materials (coir, cotton and sheep wool, latex, felt, padding polyester) is highly ecological and hygienically safe.
ELASTICITY. The soft layer quilted through simultaneously become extremely elastic, they have even density and shink substantially less during long-time use.
RESILIENCE. The mattress receives a unique property – after deformation it restores its primary form. Due to this characteristic the mattress will serve longer and preserve its orthopedic qualities.
AESTHETIC DESIGN. A glue-less deep-quilted mattress looks absolutely different and more attractive as compared to traditional glued mattress.
